the return of the grosbeaks

I got my wish. It rained today. :)
So I spent the morning out listening to the black-headed grosbeaks. They show up around this time every year and stay for a few months. Their distinctive song is so beautiful. It relaxes and calms me so I thought I'd use it for the background sound for this week's meditation on the podcast.
While I was out with my camera looking for that grosbeak, I also found these wild irises blooming by one of the seasonal creeks. They are just so delicate and pretty.
